True Love: Love Does Not Envy

1st Corinthians 13:4-7  "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth; bears all things, trusts all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

LOVE DOES NOT ENVY - have you ever felt a feeling of uneasiness in regard to (any one), arising from the sight of another's excellence or good fortune and a longing to possess it?  This is ENVY.  Love does not envy - we are to be CONTENT IN WHO WE ARE.  Not seeking anyone else's thoughts, possessions, gifts/talents, abilities.  God has placed what He wills in our lives. He didn't make a mistake when He made you. You are who God created you to be.

Next: Love does not Parade itself.

Hey Tim
I just wanted to know that i am doing a study about Love as well; and i was very encouraged by your words. I also wanted you to give you a word of encouragement that i learned from my Beth Moore's study: The greek for the word Love in those passages is Agape, which is the same word used in Jonh 3:16 "for God so "agape" the world that he gave his only son..."
The reason i bring this up is because this is the kind of sacrificial Love God gave us thru his Son so that thru him we may love in the same way. His holy spirit gives us the ability to love in this way.....It is a supernatural kind of love that only God can give, and we can only pass it on thru His Holy Spirit. So press on and dweel in Him so that He may dweel in you and you may be able to love others beyond what you and others can imagine,
God Bless,
AL
