Seek FIRST...

Seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; then all these other things will be added to you. Matt 6:33 -

What are we to FOCUS on? The Kingdom of God AND His righteousness. Then everything that life requires - God will fulfill in your life.

If you get a chance - read Ecclesiastes -- If you ever question the meaning of life - read this book. Solomon gives his wisdom and thoughts about the meaning of life. Very good principles to live by. Growing in God's Love, TIM

Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do. 8 Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil. 9 Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun— all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun. 10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, [c] where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. Ecs. 8:7-10

Meet My Papa

Meet my Papa -- I didn't have all those years to really know him -- but I knew his character and his heart. He departed from this earth too early... but God always has a plan. He represented one who deeply had a connection with Almighty God. His FOCUS was always on God. Born in Yugoslavia - served in the Slovak military - immigrated to Canada (1936) with his family. A hard working farmer (earning a dollar a week on the farm) who also dedicated his life to the service of God. Taking time out of his schedule - going back to his home country, Yugoslavia, preaching the gospel.

Growing up we visited him in Canada quite often. Each visit consisted of a family prayer before a meal and conversation always led to the Bible. Looking back at those times - I admire the dedication and heart toward God. His faithfulness in service is respected. One thing I strive to pass on to my following family generations.

Many fond memories....

EVERYTHING WE NEED

I was emailed this morning this videoclip -A powerful example of God's true love for us.

It’s a skit that was done at Winterfest this year set to “Everything” by the band Lifehouse. It brought me to tears and reminded me how careful I need to be every single day to cling to Jesus. We have so many “distractions” that can come against us, tempt us, and tear us away from God. And they will tear our life apart. But, if we spend our days right next to God, including Him in our daily activities, letting Him lead us, we will be protected.

If you need Jesus to come to your rescue and help you fight off the distractions, temptations, and harmful influences in your life all you have to do is ask for His help. Get down on your knees and pray to God. Ask Him to forgive you for your sins, tell Him that you believe that He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die for you, so you could spend eternity in relationship with Him.

King of Kings

Something to think about...

King of Kings and Lord of Lords - Takes a deeper meaning when you actually take a closer look at the words (sometimes harder to do, when you think about it). Do you apply this in all that you do? This is the desire of God - for us to completely turn to Him. We all fail - but His grace is greater than our short falls.

Is God the top priority in all we do? (King of Kings)
Do we seek Him in all we do? (Lord of Lords)

Use this thought today - in a decision you may make today. Seek Him first and see where the priority is. Where is the priority?

Splender of God

God's creation is so wondrous -- awesome in splendor. God's creation is a reflection of God's nature - God's imagination. Do you think after looking at His creation of this world --- how much He loves us? He gave us this world to live in -- not some hole in the sky - but a beautiful home. God's love for us is breath taking.

LOVE

LOVE

1 Cor. 13
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

It is my desire to grow in this love each day -->

The Faith in God = Eliminates the Fear of our Flesh

I laid down last not on my bed and was prompted to open the Bible to Samuel and Chronicles. I opened the Bible and read -- reading the history of David and his rise to power to King of Israel as God appointed. I read about the 3 Warriors and the 30 Warriors of Israel. Coming across the story of Benaiah - (2 Sam. 23:20-21) who was one of the top five warriors/soldiers in Israel. The account of this warrior was fascinating - and struck my attention.

Then today, as I usually do on Mondays, download the podcast of lifechurch.tv - the message series continued on becoming fearless - pointing out BENAIAH. I was surprised (not really) to see this character being showcased. God got my attention.

God has called us to be fearless in the sight of things and situations that arise against us. Sometimes it takes us to step out and face our fears; step out in faith - thus God will step out and meet us with His strength, His power, His victory. What every that thing may be in your life - God has called us to His life of Faith.

This reached out to me -- and I seek God to His plans for my life...
If this topic speaks to you - I urge you to watch the video below and comment to me and let me know. May God bless you -

Don't Give Up

Words of a song ringing in my head one morning.

Don't give up...you're on the brink of a miracle
Don't give in...God is still on the throne.

Don't give up...you're on the brink of a miracle
Don't give in...remember you're not alone.

Spirit of God - Fire of God

Hebrews 12:28-29
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

God's Spirit is HERE for you today -- He loves and cares for you. He will consume you and become your strength and your courage. He is HERE for you! Trust Him. You were born for such a time as this. Be blessed today.

ESTABLISHED

TODAY - God has been speaking - that this season is the start of something beautiful. He has placed into motion His plan - this season of being ESTABLISHED -- the crop will be reaped within the next year. This may sound strange - or it may be just for me - but I believe if you apply it to your life - you too will be ESTABLISHED

I have heard twice today the same word from two different sources - two different stories in the Bible.

"I will surely return to you about this time next year..." Genesis 18

God speaks a word and in the next season of your life the fruit is established-

In Genesis 18 God was speaking to Abraham telling him the they were to have a son. He told them that he would surely return and they were to have a son. That their family was to be ESTABLISHED (accomplished, firm foundation).

God has spoke to me that He was going to ESTABLISH MY HOUSEHOLD- I AM BELIEVING GOD FOR THIS FRUIT TO BE PRODUCED. He has placed His plan into motion.

The other instance of hearing that word today: "I will surely return to you about this time next year..." was in the story of the woman and man who built a room onto their home for the prophet. 2 Kings 4 - Elisha told the Shunammite woman that "About this time next year...you will hold a son in your arms" - God was speaking through Elisha --that He was initiating His plan THAT DAY (that season) and that they would reap the fruit "about this time next year".

GOD IS INITIATING His plan - RIGHT NOW - for us to reap the fruit in our next season. HE IS ESTABLISHING US!

Be encouraged today - this is the word on my heart - I hope that you find it illuminating to you.

What you reap - is what you sow.
What He sows - He reaps.
He who began a good work in you - he is faithful to complete it!

A few other verses of interest:
2 Samuel 7:13
He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

2 Samuel 7:16
Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me ; your throne will be established forever.' "

1 Chronicles 17:12!!
He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever.

1 Chronicles 17:23
"And now, LORD, let the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house be established forever. Do as you promised,

Psalm 90:17
May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.

Proverbs 24:3
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;

Isaiah 26:12
LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.

This is the word to me (and you) today -

We can either jump over the rock or stub our toe on it!

Welcome to my 100th post on mooreOfGod.blogspot.com It all started mostly with the birth of our daugther Hannah Grace - with updates and status reports of her 9 months in the womb. I'm so pleased to tell you today that Hannah Grace is healthy and now almost 2 years old. She was born weighing only 3.5 lbs. God has graced us with a gift - a gift of grace. (Thus Hannah Grace). She is a healthy little girl. So sweet and soft hearted personality. I know I sound like a proud Dad, but I guess that I am.

God is always faithful and Maranda and I always feel the hand of the Lord on our lives. He is so good to us. Last evening I listened to a sermon about God giving placing trials in our lives -- so that we can lean more on Him. It all sounds good - but when we do face trials in our own lives, it seems to test our faith. I usually get tested with problems with vehicles and the like. THIS morning - I drove down a dirt road to avoid heavy traffic at the light -- It is winter here, so the road was very bumpy - (hard to avoid holes) -- I drive back on the main road and I hear the roar of my engine -- I apartenly loosened the muffler on the underside of the vehicle -- You see, God tests us in all situations. He gave me the word last night - as almost a warning or a forethought in my mind - it was the first thing that came to mind today -- Will I just get mad at the problem - or will I turn to God and have peace and know that things happen. God gives us the grace -- but he gives us the choice on how we react to a sitation. This may be a small problem - but it places a road block in our lives. We can either jump over the rock or stub our toe on it! God would prefer that we jump over the obstacle with a happy heart.

Be blessed today.

Be Still

GOD IS SPEAKING…
DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TUESDAY JANUARY 9, 2007

“Be still and know that I am God;…” Psalm 46:10

The Word today is quick, simple and to the point. Be still! Don’t try to make anything happen. Don’t try to rush anything to happen. Don’t try to manipulate anyone into doing anything. Just keep your mind on Christ, surrender to God’s will and let Him work it out! Be still and listen for instructions!

Be still.

If you are still, you can hear:

“And Moses said unto them, ‘Stand still, and I will hear what the Lord will command concerning you.” Nu. 9:8

If you are still, you can watch God fight the battle:

“Ye shall not need to fight in this battle; set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord…” II Chron. 20:17a

It is great to pray, but then you need to be still and listen. It is great to do your part, but sometimes you have to be still so you won’t get in God’s way. It is great to do many things, however, there is a time to be still. That time is now!!

While waiting for an answer, be still! When you don't know what to do, be still! When you are overwhelmed, be still! When you are feeling pressured, be still! When you are hearing to many voices of instruction, be still! Wait and listen for God's voice! Wait and let God go before you!

Be still!

Tabernacle

A great reminder and visualization of the Tabernacle of God. God now dwells amoung His people, now in their hearts. Remarkable. Just think about that for a while.
